California is a great place to vacation, and WorldMark California Resorts help vacationers take full advantage of the area. Most people only think of themed amusement parks when they plan a trip to this great state. They also know that Hollywood is located in the southern part of the state and usually want to include that in the plans. However, there is a lot more then this in California. It is a diverse state full of great things to see and do and many of them are free.

No trip to California would be complete without a trip to the beaches of Southern California. They are warm with clean sand and just the right size waves for everyone in the family to enjoy. Most of them are free and easy to access. The summer is the best time to come and play in the water, but there are many days during the winter when the beach is warm and welcoming.

In the very southern part of the state San Diego is a fun place to stay with the kids. The Zoo is a must see and parking is free. There are also several other large well-known attractions for the whole family to enjoy. Plan a harbor tour or a trip to Coronado Island for the sightseers in the group. No one will be disappointed.

Los Angeles and Hollywood are also places most people should include when coming to this amazing state. Don’t expect to see movie stars on every corner, but with the film industry located here, who knows what might be possible?

A little farther north, San Francisco is just waiting to be explored. Cable cars and crooked streets full of wonderful sights are all possible in this one of a kind setting. It can be cool anytime of the year, so bring a jacket just in case the fog rolls in.

The northern part of the state is for people who love outdoor adventure. The Redwoods are located here and taking the time to visit them is well worth the effort. There are some great lodges and places to stay, but camping is also a good way to see this part of the state. No crowds here. There is lots of space in Northern California with plenty of outdoor things for the kids to do.

Come to California any time of the year. Each season brings its own adventure. Ski, swim, hike, sight see, visit amusement parks, or just relax in the sun. It is all there for visitors who come to this one of a kind state.
